In April, myself and my boyfriend went on a little city break to Budapest! I had a list of places I wanted to visit and I was so excited to finally tick this city break off my bucket list and let me tell you it definitely didn’t disappoint. If you are heading to Budapest soon or wanting to go in the future, make sure to add these 5 must see’s to your list!
SZECHENYI THERMAL BATHS
The Széchenyi Baths is the largest public baths in Europe and have become an iconic spot in Budapest and was definitely somewhere we wanted to visit! The baths are located on the “Pest” side of the city and are not too far from Heroes’ Square and from Vajdahunyad castle. Even though the baths were extremely busy the time of year we went, we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend.
SZECHENYI CHAIN BRIDGE
The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest. We both really enjoyed walking across the bridge to get to the Pest side. It was so beautiful and gave great views of both sides of the city.
MATTHIAS CHURCH & FISHERMAN’S BASTION
Matthias Church is a Roman Catholic Church located in front of the Fisherman’s Bastion at the heart of Buda’s Castle District. I would definitely recommend going to see Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion as it reminded me of something out of a fairytale.
